QRI Representation at LCWU Seminar on Women in Leather Sector
On behalf of Qarshi Research International, Ms. Nida Shehzad participated as a Guest Speaker at a significant one-day seminar titled "Opportunities for Young Female Researchers in the Leather Sector of Pakistan" successfully arranged by the Department of Environmental Science at Lahore College for Women University in strategic collaboration with WWF-Pakistan.
The seminar commenced with a formal inauguration under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor of LCWU and Prof. Dr. Arifa Tahir, Chairperson of the Environmental Science Department. A series of insightful keynote presentations formed the core of the morning session. Ms. Farah Nadeem, Manager Water Security at WWF-Pakistan, opened the discourse, followed by Mr. Adeel Younas, Manager Sustainable Supply Chains, who elaborated on global sustainability frameworks. Dr. Amina Meher, Deputy Secretary Livestock, provided crucial insights into the livestock value chain, and Prof. Dr. Arifa Tahir delivered a motivating address on the role of academia in fostering industry-ready environmental leaders.
The seminar was further graced by the presence of distinguished guests Ms. Nida Shehzad – Regional Sales Manager of Qarshi Research, Prof. Dr. Ijaz Sandhu, and Mr. Rashid Ahmed – Manager of the Fresh Water Program at WWF-Pakistan, whose participation enriched the multidisciplinary dialogue.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, souvenir distribution to honor the contributors, a group photo, and an exhibition of sustainable leather products.
